Lets face it, there really isn’t anything lovely about “Love Handles.”
They seem more like the awkward guy at the party who wasn’t really invited, but ends up being the first one to show up and the last one to leave, usually after having to throw a few subtle hints to leave.
On the other side, once you get rid of your love handles, you look and probably feel like you are in the most shape of your life, which may result in walking around the house with little to no clothing way more often then normal.
If you are serious about getting rid of those unwanted obliques, there are a few steps that will be sure to shed those last few unwanted inches off your side, but it comes with a fair amount of patience, commitment and consistency.
We will go into each category and cover what it takes
It’s not without reason that the most common saying when it comes to getting shredded is that “abs are built in the kitchen.” its the same thing for getting rid of love handles. luckily, the cure isn’t to complicated.
It comes down to putting your body into a caloric deficit (burn more then you eat) and making sure that the calories you are eating are the right ones.
So what should you be doing?
1st. Make sure that you are not loading up on empty calories. i.e soda, drinks, junk food, etc.
2nd. Focus on eating the right amount of Macros. (fats, proteins, and carbs.)
3rd. Eat less then you burn throughout the day, don’t go crazy though, you don’t want to enter into ketosis.
4th. Drink plenty of water
If you aren’t doing this already, you should be spending at least 20-40 minutes a day getting in some form of cardio
Whether you are running walking, biking swimming or whatever, you want to spend some time to burn those extra calories and help keep your heart rate up throughout the day.
Dont worry if the cardio isn’t targeting your stomach or hips, the goal is to lose the the extra weight, the love handles are usually last to go, so once the fat has left everywhere else, it has no choice but to leave your side.
I prefer to do a quick 10 minutes of oblique and ab training at the end of each workout.
It is super important to note that if your diet isn’t in check, working out your obliques may actually make your side look bigger because you’re not losing the weight and the strength training is building muscle that is pushing the fat out further.
There is no need to use heavy weights to exercise and target the obliques, you just want to work with intensity here.
Here is a good oblique workout you can do at the end of your normal routine.
I prefer to do a circuit training of 4 sets:
Standing Side bends
Perform all for sets till failure and your entire mid section should be sore the next day.

You probably aren’t going to see results within the first couple of days, in fact it could take a couple weeks before you start to see real results. We are all built different and our bodies respond differently. The goal is to not lose faith and stay consistent.
If you are following all of these rules, your body doesn’t have a choice but to start losing your love handles. Also, it is important to note, this is assuming you have already been losing weight and are not at the point where you have just a few more inches to lose on your waist and sides.
There you have it,
Here are the steps to focus on those love handles and get rid of them as quick as possible
